News From the Cardiac Support Group
Chairman's Report

The Cardiac Support Group is now in its sixth year and
recently held its third annual Luncheon on the 19th September 2004 at the Future
Centre, St. Thomas. Over four hundred persons attended. People won prizes and
the major prize was a trip to any Caribbean Island by Caribbean Star Airline.
Everyone had a great time.
Membership
The Group is made up of sixteen members mostly persons who
have had cardiac surgical procedures. These members who have successfully
undergone various cardiac procedures, and treatments are now working towards
helping others with similar problems. These members meet once a month to plan
and organise various activities of the group. Dr. Basil Springer is the
facilitator of the group’s annual retreat which is held in March.
Marketing Our Products
Considering that the group is made up of volunteers, in an
effort to acquire financing, Polo Shirts are sold at a reasonable price of $
30.00. These shirts bear the logo of the HFOB and the CSG. The group also
produces and distributes to patients a booklet called "Your Questions Answered".
It is our aim to embark on a more aggressive marketing drive for 2005.
