The dazzling garden courtyard of the Ocean Park Marine
Aquarium was the setting for an elegant evening of dinner and dancing on
Valentine’s Day, Wednesday February 14th, 2007, beginning at 7:00 P.M.
Guests were treated to a sumptuous buffet, with live
Entertainment by Cyan Mist, all for just $115.00.
Included were a complimentary welcome drink, gifts for the
ladies, and access to three feature aquarium displays.
To add to the fun and excitement, there were door prizes,
and a charity auction emceed by MacFingal with part proceeds going to the Heart
& Stroke Foundation of Barbados.
Managing Director of Ocean Park, Patricia Affonso-Dass said
that the evening went very well and “everyone certainly enjoyed themselves. We
were particularly pleased to be able to raise over four thousand dollars
($4,000) in 45 minutes, proceeds from the charity auction, to go to the Heart &
Stroke Foundation of Barbados. We are all aware of the effects of heart disease
and stroke on our society, and we are glad to make a contribution to assist in
the running costs of the Foundation’s excellent rehabilitation programme.”
Ocean Park, situated in Balls Complex, Christ Church,
Barbados is a unique marine aquarium that allows visitors to explore life under
the ocean and observe marine life up close without getting wet. It is the only
park of its kind in the Eastern Caribbean and throughout the day there are
informative talks and feeding demonstrations to teach visitors more about the
exciting marine life featured in the park. In addition to being an excellent
